The History of the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs and Beyond
With the start of a new millennium came the birth of the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs AAA Hockey Club.
The time had come for the Stoney Creek AAA Ice Breakers to step out and control their own future. The AAA members felt strongly about growth and having equal representation of all of the centers who were under the umbrella of the Stoney Creek AAA Zone, which was run at the time by Stoney Creek Minor Hockey. The zone centres included Ancaster, Caledonia, Glanbrook, Hagersville, West Lincoln, and Stoney Creek, and currently also include Dundas and Flamborough.
AAA teams are available from Novice through Midget, comprising of approximately 153 players in total. With the founders of a new and inclusive executive, all of these centres could now take part in shaping the direction that was believed to be in the best interest of all area athletes who were inspired to excel at a higher level of hockey.
By including ALL of the members from different centers, it was believed that players from ALL centres would have an equal opportunity to participate in AAA hockey. With the initiative of the founding President, Gerry Davis, and the newly voted-in Executive, they felt that more players would seek to play AAA hockey within their home zone, thus reducing the request for releases and waivers to play elsewhere. They wanted to offer Home Town hockey at its best.
While the AAA Icebreakers now conducted business by the name of the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs, they continued working under the by-laws of Stoney Creek Minor Hockey. In 2006 a new constitution was adopted with the official name of The Greater Hamilton AAA Hockey Club. The teams now play out of the Mohawk 4 Ice Center which opened in December 2006, opening more available ice to all local minor hockey teams.

The success of the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Association has evolved well, mainly due to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers: Coaches, Assistants, Trainers, Managers, Fundraisers, and Executive Members, and of course the families of all of our players who tirelessly take their young athletes from arena to arena night after night.
And let’s not forget the players themselves who, without them, we would not be here in the first place.

The Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs......Pride and Passion unleashed!
