Introducing U16's 2022/23 Season Coaches!

Head Coach - Kevin Elkins

During my 20+ years of being involved in coaching, I have worked with many levels of hockey from Minor Peewee AAA to Junior A. My main focus is always been individual player development and to provide players with the tools and confidence necessary to continue to grow and reach their goals both on and off the ice.

My Coaching experience includes many levels of Rep Hockey, U17 Team Ontario regional Programs, Appleby College and JR A with the Milton Ice Hawks and the Bramalea Blues.

My passion and love for the game is instilled in my players as they come to the rink with the purpose of becoming a better hockey player. The 2022/2023 hockey season will be an exciting year for myself and my coaching staff as we are all really looking forward to the opportunity to lead the Hamilton Jr Bulldogs AAA team into their draft year season. With player development, good team play, and creating a fun environment, we will work hard together to achieve our team goals along with each players individual goals.

Meet the Staff

Mark Evely – Assistant Coach

Mark is a Caledon native who played with the Brampton Battalion, Toronto Marlboros, and Halton Hurricanes alongside many now-NCAA, OHL, AHL, and NHL athletes. Sidelined by severe injury in 2010, Mark has since shifted his knowledge to coaching, development, and scouting at the minor and major-junior level. Mark will be the defense coach for the U16 team next season.

Adam Syring – Assistant Coach

Adam will be back on the bench next season with coach Kevin, as he is currently head coach of the HJB U16 Hockey Club (06’). Adam started coaching in the City of Hamilton in 2002 and has been involved in AAA hockey within the City of Hamilton for over 13 seasons, coaching various age groups U10-U16. Adam has been part of the OHF U15 program as well as Hockey Canada Program of Excellence U16 (OHL Gold Cup) for several seasons as an assistant and head coach. Adam holds his High Performance 1 certification, and is extremely excited to be able to work with coach Kevin next season.

Alex Murray – Goalie Coach

Alex grew up in Burlington playing goalie and minor hockey in Burlington. Alex continued to play Jr. A for the Burlington Cougars for 2 years before going to Prince George Spruce Kings in the BCHL. Alex then played NCAA Division 1 for American International College for 4 years. Alex was the leader in the NCAA in saves in 2015. Alex then played one year in the Southern Professional Hockey League, one year in the New Zealand Hockey League. Alex has been coaching with Coach Kevin for several years which included a berth to the OHL cup with the Oakville 04’ Hockey Club.
