Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs’ U14 (2008) and U15 (2007) Bantam Checking Clinics
The Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs organization will
be holding checking clinics for U14 (2008) and U15 (2007) divisions. These clinics are available to all players
who register online for Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs 2021-22 Fall Tryouts. There is no cost for players to attend these
clinics as it is included in your online registration fee.
It is a requirement that all players in the U14
(2008) and U15 (2007) divisions must participate in a checking clinic prior to
tryouts. This requirement will be met by
the player’s attendance at the HJB Checking Clinics, or by presenting a proof
of attendance with a previous team/organization, or privately through a certified
private checking clinic.

Clinic: 8:00pm – 9:15pm

The Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs organization recognizes that checking is a critical skill in the game of hockey and when performed properly can create quality scoring opportunities or help a team regain control of the puck. A common misconception is that the skill of checking begins at a certain age or age category of play. In fact, checking is a 4-step progression that begins the first time a young player steps on the ice. Body checking is the fourth and final step of a 4-step teaching progression.
