Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Development Team 2018-2019 Hockey Season

The Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs are pleased to announce the following Professional Instructors as leaders of our 2018-19 HJB Development Program: Ty Garner, Ryan Risidore, Paul Beraldo, Matt Ruberto and Josh Soares.

These Professional Instructors will collectively develop and implement the HJB Development Program which continues to evolve and is available to our HJB Players at sessions that are in addition to their team’s weekly practices.

Ty GARNER – Goalie Development

The Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs would like to welcome back Ty GARNER as the Jr. Bulldogs goalie development coach for another season. Ty who is from Stoney Creek played his minor hockey within the City of Hamilton. Ty played for the Oshawa Generals in the OHL, drafted to the NHL and saw his first action with the Calgary Flames. Ty also played professionally in the AHL and ECHL where his team captured the Kelly Cup Championship. While en-route to the Championship title Ty was also co-named Kelly Cup Playoffs MVP. Ty also took his career overseas playing in Germany and Norway. Everyone including players, coaches and parents are excited to be working with Ty again this upcoming season.


Ryan RISIDORE – Player Development

Ryan RISIDORE is back again working within our organization as a development coach for the 2018-2019 season. Ryan who played his minor hockey within City of Hamilton went on to play for the Hamilton Kilty B’s. Ryan was drafted by the Guelph Storm of the OHL were he played for 3 seasons with the organization. While he played for Guelph he was recipient of MVP award as well as defencemen of the year.  Ryan was drafted to the Hartford Whalers of the NHL and has played over 500 games professionally in the AHL, IHL, ECHL and BISL. Welcome back Ryan for another season.


Paul BERALDO – Player Development

Paul BERALDO is back for another season with the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Hockey Club as a development coach. Paul is a Stoney Creek native who played a year of his junior hockey with the Stoney Creek Warriors. Paul played in the OHL for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and then drafted by the Boston Bruins of the NHL. Paul played professionally in the NHL, AHL, Italy, Germany and in the BISL. Paul has also represented Canada and Italy in International competition during his professional hockey career. Paul is also currently a scout for the Hamilton Bulldogs OHL Hockey Club. The organization is excited to have Paul back again.  

Matt RUBERTO – Player Development

The Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs would like to welcome Matt RUBERTO to the organization as a development coach for the 2018-2019 season. Matt grew up in Stoney Creek and played junior in the OPJHL with the Oakville Blades. Matt continued his hockey career playing in the NCAA for 4 seasons. Matt went on to play in the SPHL and overseas in France. Matt came back home playing in the ACH for the Brantford Blast, Stoney Creek Generals and currently signed with the Hamilton Steelhawks. While playing in the ACH Matt has been part to two championship teams in 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 with the Generals. The Jr. Bulldogs welcome Matt aboard our development staff.

Josh SOARES – Player Development

Josh SOARES is a Hamilton native who played forward for his minor hockey and professional career. Josh was described as a two-way forward who combines speed with offensive skill. He can finish plays himself as well as dishing out the puck. Josh played his junior hockey for the Kilty B’s and Hamilton Red Wings of the OPJHL. Josh went on to play for the University of Maine then started his professional career playing in the AHL, ECHL, DEL, SHL, EBEL and finishing in Europe in the Norwegian league. During his playing time he captured the following championships: NCAA and Norwegian on several occasions. Josh was also an All-Star in the NCAA, ECHL and Norwegian league. The Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs look forward to having Josh work with our players for the season.
