With the 140th pick in the NHL Entry Draft, the Colorado Avalanche pick 20-year-old center
Brandon Saigeon out of the OHL. Saigeon was part of the J Ross Robertson Trophy
winning Hamilton Bulldogs who lost in the Memorial Cup to the Acadie-Bathurst
Titans.
The Grimsby, Ontario native was ranked 147th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting. He was also the fourth overall pick in the OHL Priority Draft by the Belleville Bulls, but was never a top-line player in the OHL until this past season when he posted 70 points in 65 games, as well as 25 points in 21 playoff games.
Being an overage draft pick, Saigeon is going to be eligible to play in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles next season.
