Annual Golden Horseshoe AAA Hockey Tournament undefeated.
Hamilton
Jr. Bulldogs and Quinte Red Devils met up for their second match and gave hockey fans in Burlington all they
could hope for Saturday night. The Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs’ PeeWee Team earned
a thrilling 2-1 win over the Quinte Red Devils’ PeeWee Team to capture the PeeWee
Championship of the 50th Annual Golden Horseshoe AAA Hockey Tournament.
After
a back and forth start, the Quinte Red Devils found the back of the net to put them up 1-0. But the Jr. Bulldogs regrouped and picked up the
intensity, keeping pressure and a ton of traffic in front of the Quinte Red Devils
net to tie up the game.
For the most part the game was defensive - with tight checks and solid goaltending by both goaltenders on more than one occasion. The Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs persisted and with a nice set-up scored their second goal to put them ahead 2-1 going into the third period.
The third period proved to be fast and tight with both Teams playing hard and determined. Quinte Red Devils pulled their goalie not once but twice in an effort to tie up the game but the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs held on and fought hard to win the game 2-1.
Congratulations to the Players and Coaches of the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs PeeWee AAA Team!
