His story could be a huge downer if he wanted it to be.
Once a star with the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs,
he was taken fourth overall in the 2010 OHL draft, scored the
championship-winning goal in Game 7 in his rookie season with the Owen
Sound Attack and was later drafted by the Ottawa Senators. Jarrod
Maidens' career was on a steep upward trajectory with a landing spot in
the NHL all-but certain.
